if i hooked up my gamecube to my computer through this tv tuner, would there be any issues with it? or even better, would it work at all?

Ive played a gamecube off a computer using some video editing software. Used a composit- in connector I belive. Became an interesting video playing True Crime streets of LA...

Some tuners have a really bad delay between when something happens and when it shows up on screen. Not much at all, but enough to throw off your game badly.

If your tuner has a tv-on-demand pause live TV type feature TURN IT off.

Happauge makes good tuners though, I haven't had latency problems with my older Happauge card or even my ATI AIW cards (With TVoD OFF).

Keep in mind though that it WILL look like crap. It's just the nature of the beast. Some things you can do to alleviate the problem are to use the best connection you can (S-video or component or RGB if you have them), Sit quite a bit farther away from the screen than you would in normal PC gaming use, and lastly, to turn down your desktop resolution when you play through the capture card.

The way I understand it, all (or most) cards that have post-processing to clean up the image, have a delay. For instance, my Ati usb wonder has a delay, and its image looks a heck of a lot better than my Leadtek's, but the Leadtek has no delay at all.

on my older x800 pro VIVO, I had some serious problems with interlacing. There was no delay, but everything was super criss-crossed toothy style nastiness any time there was movement on screen. It made the game pretty much unplayable. I used winamp with the VIVO plugin, but other things still had the problem. Oh well.
