View Full Version : Just got some Senn HD212Pro's!!!
Hey all, these are my VERY first of what i'll call "real" headphones. I upgraded from these ($60) from a cheap $5 pair of Sony earbuds. I originally had some dollar store headphones, noticed a big difference w/ the Sony's...and yet an even bigger difference w/ these AMAZING Sennheiser HD212Pro's. They were recommended to me by Shard here at the forums (one of my good pals). Anyway, I now notice very clear higher-pitched noises, and very deep low-ptich noises, I LOVE IT! I play Enemy Territory alot and have noticed a big differenece when playing, just better clarity, and also noticed the Thompson sounds alot more deep. My only complain so far after owning these for just 20 minutes or so is their a little tight around my head (compared to the earbuds which were un-noticable). Anyway, I'll use them for a while more and tell u what I think.
BTW 2 YEAR WARRENTY!! DAMN THATS SOOO WORTH IT!

I'm glad you like 'em cause I have a set too. Wait until they break in a bit and put it on a decent audio card. *drools* they are not the best, certainly worth the money.
Becareful with the cord as there cheap. [AK]ZIP, a member here can custom build a solid cord for you.

yeah, you'll want to break those in for atleast 20 hours, 50 if you can.
how do I break em in? (sounds noob lol)

just play music for that time... I like to choose bassy music... sine sweeps can also work, but at higher volumes they can kill the drivers.
The HD212 aren't as bad as people make them out to be - hi-fi headphone enthusiasts, that is. They're pretty good, but very bassy, which some may like.
As for break in, more commonly known as burn in, it's just the process where the drivers loosen to the point where they sound the best. Just use them and they'll break in over time. I'm not aware if the HD212 have much of an effect after break in. Typically people play music through their headphones at louder than normal volumes for extended periods of time. Days, even weeks for some headphones. I'd just let them go overnight. It's harder to kill headphone drivers than you think, but don't push it. I would put them on my head and turn it up a good 50% past what you normally listen to. Or until the point where it gets too loud and starts to hurt a little (but not blasting, that's too much).
well you are welcome :D
yes after you break them in, you will like them even more ;)
thanks guys, didn't know u can "burn in" or break in headphones, I'll prolly try that out sometime when I get the time, heh
