New ForceWare 80.40 (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1116) have been release and they add H.264 hardware decoding to the 7800 series for those of you who have them and also almost any geForce graphics card to date is supported.

I have yet to install them but will do it soon as I get home. I hope I see some numbers jump up in benchmarks and also BF2.

Post your comments.

They've released some more already I supposed it's to counter that colour problem people have been having. I can't install them for my FX5200 wouldn't do much go apart from burn it into the ground. Which would be nice but have to wait till I can get a 6600GT 256mb unless the 6800GT drops due to the 7xxx series out.

Actually you can fix the color problem with the 77.20 simplly, look for the other thread. With these drivers I noticed better image quality and my 3DMark05 jumped by 35 points, not much but good enough for me.

You really think that my FX5200 would be able to use these well mate your the only one who has cause everyone else goes on about that I shouldn't use series 7 or 8 drivers for a series 5 card.

But I'll give them a whirl.

dont suppose they would run the 6200s well? I might choose them over the 77.72s if they do..

There is no harm in trying. These drivers have worked better for me than any previous ones.
Give it a try guys and if you don't like them you can allways go back to what you were using before.

Are they any better than the 77.50?

77.72 Drivers = 3631 Marks
80.40 Drivers = 3654 Marks

Both scores at stock. Not really much difference at all.

80.40 Drivers also have that WM10 problem, but to fix it is exactly the same as with the 77.72 drivers.

The image quality with these drivers is much better than with any previous ones. BF2 looks awsome and now I'm getting 65fps with all settings maxed out on 1280x960 and with 77.20 it was around 55fps with same settings.

Anyone tried these with SLI yet? I'm hoping for multi screen support with SLI and SLI to regular without rebooting. If this driver has either of those, I'm installing it.

Nope, its got neither. :( Back to 77.72, then...
