View Full Version : How can I set my GeForce2 Ultra to 2X AGP?

It's currently at 4X. Both my motherboard and card support 1X, 2X, and 4X AGP speeds. I suspect I'm overstressing my card by having it at 4X, so I'd like to try it at 2X.

No NVMax, or Powerstrip or any of that. That stuff doesn't work for me, I don't know why.

that card is powerful enough to be run at 4X, and the performance will go down alot using half the speed. as long as you have proper cooling on the GPU then you should be more than fine

On my MSI board I can do this in the BIOS.

Disable AGP 4* in the BIOS. Then the max it will run at is 2*. But you'll take a performance hit doing that......

You'll won't notice much difference between 2x & 4x. Maybe 100 points or so in 3dMark2001. Nothing currently loads the AGP port enough to require 4x.
