Recently I upgraded to the 77.72 drivers and now when I play CS: Source and BF2 the game will lockup for about 3 seconds with the sound looping and then continue to normal again. This will go on the whole time I am playing. When i rolled back to the 66.93 the problem has went away. The thing is I want to be able to use the newest drivers because it fixes shadow issues etc. Also I am only getting 4623 on 3dMark05. Atfirst I thought it could be a driver issue but i was wondering if possibly the new drivers made my card use something that could be making it lockup like that which would be something wrong with the card. My rig is in my sig so if you have any information that can possibly help me out please do!!

Did you use driver cleaner to get rid of the previous driver?

I know this is gonns sound a bit iffy, but you could try turning off fast writes to see if that could help, but it seems to be entirely a driver issue :)

Ive tried disabling fastwrite but no i didnt use a driver cleaner though i did format my computer and reinstall the newest drivers so i dont believe thats an issue.

Is it possible my card could be having issues because these drivers make it work alittle harder?

i know several people who have had various problems with these new drivers. almost none of the problems were the same, i just stuck with the previous drivers, and everything's A-OK with me.
