I followed this volt mod guide at VR-zone. (http://www.vr-zone.com.sg/?i=926&s=1) I am reading 1.67v now with the mod. Before the mod I was getting 1.43v. I have tried it up to 440/core but I was getting green flashing "artifacts?" on the display with a lockup. Jeeeezzzzeee! I cant' seem to OC these 2x6800 Ultras for nothing. Idle is 55c and load was 82c when it locke up.

I would like some advice LMK, fellas.

Better cooling perhaps? I'm not a volt modder, I just noticed that looks like the stock HS. But I do know that heat=artifacts when it comes to video cards

Aye mate! They be stock heatsinks. :eh?:

But, I have a dual evap phase cooler coming very soon to cool both cards. I am volt modding my cards so all I have to do is install the cooler. I take it very slow when I do v-mods.

Here is a shot of both evaps all nice and frosty...

Krag................

YOU SUCK :D

Lol lets see some phase on those babies. If you're not getting results then temps would make a lot of sense. Can't wait to see what you hit with that cooling on there.

how are you testing for artifacts?

Thanks for the replies fellas! :welcome:

crimedog, it's just what I have noticed in real world gaming. HL2 so far.

Looks like its the heat thats messing up my OC on these cards. I started to get more of those green flashes so I shut down the game and opened up rivatuner and I saw my core was at 91c!!!!! :bang head

Its not picking up my true vid-core for some reason??

I'm gonna have to disable these v-mods. I cannot run these cards with the mods until I get some better cooling on them.

heat you think really LOL whatever case fans you have turn em around if you have any at all. I wish i had a PC that slow

91° --- Sounds like they're burned in properly now ;)

That should pretty well fly when you get the cooling on there. What's Sandman doin just insulating it or something? Looks like the evaps are working well :D

Those things are gonna fly with good cooling...... I see some records falling and some intense gaming in your future..... ;)

This what I have on it now and I still can't keep em cool. A 172mm fan

Yeah Maxi, my GPUs could almost boil eggs!! :) 91 degree Celsius = 195.8 degree Fahrenheit!!!

My FX55-Sandy will be here on Thur.!!!!!! So there is an extra 500 "05" points on top ofw hatever my phase SLI gives. :)

1.67v is way too much for stock cooling. I find even with most cards, aside from the ones with the copper slugs, don't even like to respond to the 1.5v BIOS flash volt mod.

Id unmod the card if I were you.

Also, when you freeze them, make sure to extract the BIOS of the card, open it with an Nvidia BIOS editor, and give yourself the extra 0.1v thats hidden in the BIOS.

Yeah, I already tryed the 1.5v Bios mod thru NiBiTor 2.2 and I got the same results that you are discribing. I unmodded them last night and am waiting upon the Samdman... :bang head

Wow, that edit button is dangerous. Looks like Krag pulled a whoops.

Try one card at a time. Use coolbits and the autodetect. 1.5v should deffinatly give you somehting. Make sure that you verify that you are indeed running 1.5v by physically checking either of the two read points on the card while running 3d.

If you still can't figure it out, send them to me :D

DAD-Gummit! I do that all the time, sorry bro! Thats what I thought but, 1.5v made no difference at all.

I have found a slight increase in clock speeds on stock cooling, (on an eVGA AGP Ultra) with the 1.5v BIOS, but the temps are getting up there for my likings.

What are the max clocks you can run at stock volts, which should work out to be about 1.45v. Check that too, and let me know what they are.

The cooling that you have on the way is deffiantly going to help you out a lot, so maybe just wait for that before you start pumping in all kinds of volts, and messing with it, because you are just going to be starting over when you get the new cooling.
