View Full Version : Has anyone used a peltier on a pentium D yet?
I ask because I'll be trying it in a few weeks. So, has anyone heard anything? I'm still waiting for the power supply I ordered weeks ago on ebay . . .

Make sure its a 226w minumum.
If you do it right, im sure you will have good results. The main barrier to dual core ocing is heat as you probably know.
I'd probably go with a pelt in the 300W range at least.

These things are loading up vapochill pretty bad with decent overclocks, so I definetly would consider one of those monster pelts from www.frozencpu.com

It probably isn't worth the effort - the P-Ds are just creating too much heat when OC'd
I'll let you guys know how it turns out (hopefully) this weekend. If not, sometime mid next week. I'm waiting on a relay and some barbs for my pump.
Should be sweet, I'd like some results after your done :P
I would be more concerned with the main boards VRM modual..Once you start hitting high clocks that VRM will get so hot you can not touch it..So if you want to pelt a d series look at seriously cooling the VRM on the main board else you melt the contacts lmao..
I got everything in today, and I'll have some results starting tomorrow or saturday.
I got it up to 4ghz, and it was running 40*C under load, then . . .
a hose flew off of the radiator. :'(
I'll see if the mobo etc . . . are still good tomorrow. I'm going back to stock for a while.
Darn that sucks..I hope everything is good.....Keep us posted..
You would not believe how fast I jumped out of my chair and unplugged everything.
To bad ya did not have that jumping action on video that would be priceless...

OMG. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope everything still works. Just remember there is no rush to turn it back on and check everything. Give it a day or two to compeletly dry out
She's alive!!!!
Everything is working fine, and I'm back on stock cooling. I'll switch back to water/pelt in a week or two.
