Could anyone reccomend a good clear coat paint that sprays on nice. Ive used two kinds before one of them sprayed on and looked and felt like a smoke colored rubbery orange peel when dried and the other felt like some high grit sand paper. Im looking for something thatll spray on smooth and actually be clear.

I use to know back when I was still doing rockets.... (painting painting painting expoxy ugg...)

Go to hobbylobby an get some craft clearcoat or somthing. Model card clearcoat is expensive but is probly just as good. lol

It's generally best to match the brand of clear coat to the paint. Different brands can actually result in a mucky mess.

Spray cans will pretty much always cause more or less orange peeling, that's what wetsanding is for. Thinner coats from larger distances will cut down on that. I've seen folks get good results from spraying upwind from 2 feet away, but that takes a bit of paint-haven't tried this method myself actually, I just wetsand.

I use Duplicolor as well. Good stuff and well worth the extra dollar or two you pay for it. Your local autoparts store should carry it.

FYI I am also quite fond of their chrome paint as well. It is the best I have found.
