My problem is that I can't hide the CLC in win2000 using seti spy. Anybody got an idea?

Also I would like to know how to configure seti to run as a backgroundservice (in win2000, but other OS'es would be great too!). I know it is possible, but don't know how to get it into the registry.

That way I don't have people shutting down my client, just because they think it's 'anoying'. This way I can get seti on quite some more boxes, I would love to do that! Last 2 months I've become sysadmin at a company in Amsterdam (20Mac, 6PC) and sysop at my university for our student-group network (4 pc's). Certainly the last mentioned network would do great for seti, as it's perfectly legal to run it there as backgroundservice.

Murphy - I'm sure you can hide it using the setup instructions Kris put on the site. Just don't allow the CLC to show in the system tray.......

Thanx Reddeathdrinker for your reply! The spy I use works for win98 but not in win2000 (at this box I have dual boot). With 'work' I mean hiding the CLC. Maybe I do need fresh install for win2000. I will try that when I have time left...

Anybody about that Register editing/ backgroundservice, Ideas?

It's kind of a pain actually, unless you use one of the utilities that automates it. Here are some instructions on how to do it yourself under NT4 - should work the same for 2000.

Thanx TC, exactly what I needed. I hope to test it this week(end). I will report on how it works out...

Crunch on!
