I can't get higher than 1600 with my crappy watercooling setup
My 1.4 does 1705 water cooled.

Welcome to the forums.
Mine will do 1.6 air cooled no probs, see sig for mobo.
It is always best to add extra cooling when overclocking.
I'm running a 1.4@1.52 with a glaciator hsf and 120mm 108cfm duct. I could probably do higher, but I think I have some airflow problems to resolve. my motherboard is an asus a7m266
I have my 1.4 at only 1500 because I don't want to use a noisy 6-7000rpm fan. The 5000rpm 6cu is pretty quiet and rated by AMD for the 1.4 T-bird.
My topower 420W PS has dual thermo fans (one above the CPU) and I have an additional 80mm rear fan. This cooling setup is adequate at the moment with peak temps of 50C.
Summer may be a different story - I'll have to wait and see.
See sig for other details.

Overclocking without cooling? Are you crazy or just want a new keychain? These 1.4's run HOT and will not O/C that good on air, buy an XP.

I had my 1.4Ghz running at 1.575Ghz before my PSU blew up on me. Got a good SK-6 with thin layer of AS-2 on base. I also have an 80mm doppler pushing cool air into SK-6. Temps are very nice indeed.
BTW, I have to dead cpu's for keychains but you live in US.
One is classic 650Mhz Athlon and other is 1.1Ghz AJFA Thunderbird. Both died in the line of duty, may they forever rest in peace, amen. The 650Mhz died of electromigration (Old ******* basically) And my 1.1Ghz died of chipped sides (Dentist work me thinks)
Actually, I dont know if my 1.1Ghz is dead yet. I haven't tried it since upgrade, but it sure looks iffy.
soli about not making my question clearly^^
"what's the highest speed you get without the addition of any cooling equipment (beside from the CPU fan) at its most stable state?"

You won't know until you try it. I wouldn't hold out for much, though, because stock cooling is quite bad, especially for the hottest of hots, which you have.
