Hey Fellas...

I got some grip (around $200) for Fathers Day and my B'day in the last few weeks in the form of newegg gift certificates. In my sig is my current system. I want to spend it, but am not quite sure on what. Need a little help from you guys.

Before you get started, I am not a big "sound" guy, so speaker upgrade is not the direction I would be interested in. Anywho, if I can use these certificates and maybe drop a little more coin into something that would better my performance and gaming experience, I would be all for it.

At first blush, memory or an SLI config jumps out, but I am not that sold on SLI as it relates to the resources it takes up.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Dang, I don't see a whole lot that needs upgraded. Maybe adding another 74 gig Raptor for some RAID action? The new 7800 GT should be available soon for about $400 (the 7800 GTX is already in the stores for about $600). After selling your 6800 GT, you might not have to spend much extra above your gift certificate. What about the monitor? I don't see that listed in your siggy.

If you need more storage you could get a nice 500 GB Hitachi TK750.

Also, a nice monitor would round out that setup nicely.

You have a pretty sweet rig, maybe you can just save it for your next upgrade because you should really be fine for a while.

You have a very nice system right there. The only upgrade I would do right now would probably be another large HDD for storage, but that may be unnecessary in your case if you don't need the space. If that is the case it may be best to just save your money.

That would work. Or, you can get more ram. More ram never hurts, and you almost NEED to buy something, don't gift certificates expire after a certain time?
