changing Dell MB from 400MHZ to 533MHZ

changing MB from 400MHZ to 533MHZ

Hi All,

I have a dell 4500. The MB is an intel Intel D845EBG2 which supports both 400Mhz and 533Mhz. The 4500 is marketed and configured for 400MHZ.

I would like to replace the existing 400Mhz cpu with a 533MHZ cpu. Do i need a different bios? I dont think Dell has a Bios for that board that would allow 533Mhz configutation.

Is there anything i can do?

Try it and see.. you dont really need a different bios for different processors of the same type.. good luck.
