just because i cant run a tracert and they cant get off there asses and fix the issue i can tracert everyplace else just not @home sites.
what gives?
Based on our system tools, you are not properly configured for DHCP operation. Continuing to operate your system in this manner can/will result in your service being terminated as you are in violation of the user agreement.
Is it that important to you to risk losing your Internet?
Some routers can be configured to not respond to icmp requests.

that has nothing to do it.
if i cant runa tracert they are saying its my fault when i can tracert anything thats not related to the losers,
there just starting to make me wanna go postal
i think its time to find a new service provider
If I could get DSL I'd be on it in a heartbeat. But my choices at the moment are @home or 56k. Guess which one I chose?

not like they'd ever admit it though...adelphia's the same way with me. they always use their "ace in the hole" --
You're using a router and because of this we cannot offer you any technical support. Have a nice day!
..........ok, wtfe (not like my getting mad is going to fix their crappy network...but of course it's always *my* fault)
so bypass the router with one machine and then call

They are probably just blocking ICMP traffic.
http://is-it-true.org/nt/atips/atips69.shtml
"You may attempt to trace the route to certain sites and the trace will abort prior to reaching the requested site. Microsoft and others block ICMP packets arriving at its firewall. An additional eye-opener is how many hops there are between your site and the site you are attempting connection. Try the same command during different sessions and you will also find that the routes vary from session to session and from attempt to attempt. "
Try a tracert or a ping to www.microsoft.com or www.ibm.com It will time out. But their sites are still there and working... They just block ICMP traffic.
Financially troubled broadband provider Excite@Home stopped accepting new subscribers,
citing the bankrupt company's need to conserve cash. Excite@Home, the leading provider of
broadband Internet access, with nearly 4 million customers, recently filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy protection and negotiated a deal to sell its high-speed network to AT&T for $307
million in cash.

yeah,
rogers has been giving me hell..
before we had one subscription,
but I set up a home network,
and only the original computer has a dynamic connection,
and I set the other 3 up static with a manual config..
used to work fine, than one-day stopped, now I have to pay an extra 10 bucks for each extra IP, max 3...
pretty crappy...
and their retarded servers couldn't even assign me a proper IP, kept trying to assign me an internal one, a 192.xxxxx
so it was off for a week, was using an internal proxy thro the other comp...
and even now I still lose my connection often through the day, for 10-15 mins... then it comps back...
but they have no prob colelcting their 60 bucks a month from me
those ppl are on crack I tell u...
