I am looking to purchase a server with dual 64 Bit Opterons, and I was wondering if I needed to purchase Windows 2003 Server 64 Bit edition or if just the Windows 2003 Server Edition would be fine?

Is there any compatability issues?

right bit wrong - Yes , if you want to run 64bit windows - you need a 64bit processor, but you can run a 32bit O/S on a 64bit CPU :D

got a dual opteron system my self for work - dual 246's

the processor runs BOTH 64 and 32 bit - if you install server 64 - you can run 32bit application BUT you need 64bit drivers so MAKE sure you can get all drivers in 64bit, otherwise go 32.
