Hey hey.

I've got a Celeron 900mhz, on an ASUS TUSL2-C Mainboard (without Onboard Sound chip).

With 100% processor load (after 30 minutes) It averages 46°C. Should I try overclocking it? and to about what? (I figure 1.15 or 1.2 is as far as I should go before I'm likely to have problems).

On a second note, I installed the PC Probe that comes with my mainboard and decided to try the cooler that comes with it. The 12v Voltage dropped by 0.2 volts (if even that, the vCore voltage didn't drop or rise from 1.75) and my CPU temperature dropped by 11°C. Anyone have any ideas how these coolers work? And should I leave the cooling to always on if I'm going to overclock my CPU? (Just curious)

Thanks. :)

I got those temps while burning in at 2.3v! Ok call me stupid for doing so. But hey its my chip.

First I never used that board somebody needs to tell you how acurrate Asus is temp wise.

B.What type of HS are you using?

3. Most people do not like to see their full load temps over 40c.

I mostly dont care for temps. Running a little hot isnt the worst thing in the world. Just make sure that it doenst get out of hand.

For now tell us the heatsink you are using. and someone will tell us the inaccuracy of the board and we can work from there ;-)

Good Luck

You need better cooling first, trust me on this one.

At the moment, I'm using the Heatsink that came with my Celeron (It's a lot more superior than one might think, better than the one I bought the day I went to pick up the CPU etc.).

I was thinking of getting another, but no idea what to get, as they're usualyly lowd and eficcient or quite and not. ;)

I've got an Air ciculator in there, and one case fan (getting another). Not too sure as to what else I can do other than the new heatsink (except for maybe a water cooling system, but i dont have the money to invest in one. ;)

Get some Arctic Silver II to replace the thermal tape.

It'll do wonders.

(I also strongly advise a new HSF, but hey, its your choice)

I've had excellent results with the GlobalWin FOP cooler and they're cheap too. If you get the FOP32 version it's not noisy, but the FOP38 version is. Alpha coolers are another proven performer. I've heard good things about the Glaciator and Swifttech too. Lots of great coolers on the market now. Using a good thermal paste like Arctic Silver really helps too.

You should easily be able to hit 1200:

I presume your motherboard has FSB options greater than 133, in which case you can probably try to get 1300 or higher.
