i try to run photoshop CS and get this error:

An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application.

photoshop worked for a few weeks before i started getting this error, and ive tried reinstalling it several times. any ideas?

Try this:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\8.0\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings

Delete the "Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs.psp" file. Sometimes my photoshop refuses to load and freezes at the Reading Global Prefrences stage.

http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/326146.html

Go down about 3/4 of the page and start reading @ the bold #4.

Hope this helps!!
