The screensavers / AthlonXP review

Patrick on tonights episode of the Screensavers did a brief review of the new Athlon. He said according to his benchmark the Athlon 1.4, P4 2.0 and the new Athlon 1800 are in a dead heat. He said the diference between the three was very small w, with the new Athlon being slightly faster , but at half the price of the Intel.

I dream of the day that Intel is a little **** ant company and AMD rules the market !!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I dream of the day too...

But to be honest Intel can just pump themselves up with more mhz and marketing, the stupid consumer is sucked in...sad isn't it :( :( :(

if the northwood improves the P4 as the Tualatin did the P3 then AMD is really screwed:mad:

I read the article of Patrick & it sounds like he really likes the new XPs. You guys can read it here (http://r.pm0.net/s/c?j.j6f.2.4gn.m5t). He did mention that certain games run faster on the P4 at default clockspeeds, XP1800(1.53GHz) vs. P4(2GHz). Just think what would happen if he got a hold of a XP1800 from an O/Cer:D.

I really wonder why Amd , instead of going with the new "performace " based naming, didn't just come out with a true 1800mhz chip, think how much AMD would smoke Intel then?!

Or even go all the way to 2000 !!! I just don't understand?

In fact ..........I think that question deserves it's own thread.
