Does anyone have any tips on wiring my 120 volt water pump so that it turns when my PC does even with a soft boot ?

There is a relay made by Turbokeu that was really nice but too complicated for me...

If you want do a forum check for his name! and check his post you'll find it

Check out my article "Watercooling and Other Tricks" under the watercooling link. I wired mine with a relay that is very simple and it works fine.

I wired my directly into the PSU. I removed the PSU cover and soldiered the pump wires to the terminals inside my PSU that the wall plug connects to. Now when ever my PSU turns on it turns on my pump. I looked at relays and decided why bother as it is just another link in the chain to break.

That's what I did too!

I show pics in my article: "Tales of a 'Shade Tree' Machinist - My Homemade Water Cooled System" from October 6th. I like tha way I can run the pump and test without having to power up the rest of the system. It's good for removing the bubbles too.

I read your article...Interesting stuff. You need one of those Shopsmith machine that does custom milling!!

I prolly go for it too :)

I currently have my UNWorkable system with a switch to turn the pump on and off, the power is coming from teh wall not from the PS :( i'll prolly just do teh same as you ppl ;)
