Can't open .EXE files on MS outlook?

apparently MS outlook blocks incoming attachments with a certain extention like .EXE or .BAT. I've looked around outlooks options, internet options, control panel, nothing helps. there's no way around this? is outlook simply unable to open my attachment? i really want to punch Bill in the face right now . . .

I think its for your safty, for viruses. I dont believe aim lets you send .exe either. I dont use outlook though so no idea on how to fix it. I would just ask your friend sending you the file to zip it.
