Quick help needed w/video software

Ok, I have a buddy that has a dvd playing software on his win xp machine (not sure of name) that will play all movie dvd's, but won't play porn dvd's. What software will decode these movies so that I can help him out? Preferably a free program...would be nice...:)

Huh? Maybe the porn dvds are locked out of the software DVD player because of the ratings. Ask your friend to check the parental control features. Another possibility is that those dvds are from another region so you'd need to look into software or firmware updates that can unlock the region on the dvd-rom drive.

If the videos aren't really dvd type, then you might need a video codec. Try the divx free codec or the theorica pack.
