Im trying to decide .. i really am starting to dislike this board .. i cant really get it stable .. too many settings and not enough time .. im not a huge overclocker .. but i would like to overclock a bit .. i was thinking of selling this dfi board .. only a week or 2 old .. and switch to an abit sli fatality .. or an asus premium sli .. what do u guys think ..
plus the chipset fan is sooo loud on this board ..

Are you sure its the chipset that is loud? Looking at your sig i see the 7800gtx.
Its really hard to say, which board to choose, abit, asus clocks fairly well what i heard. And your DFI should be a top? Heard that the Abit was on pair, or was it the Asus in voltage. Gaah, getting late again, time for some A!MG before i sleep.

I'm goign for either the DFI NF4 SLI or the Abit AN8-SLI (with heatpipe)... I'm hoping the bios issues of the AN8 get fixed. The passive cooling is a big thing for me because I'm building a quiet computer. It concerns me that you say its loud. That fan must be really loud, you have some not-so-quiet components (such as the psu/raptor/high speed panaflo), so in a quiet system the chipset fan would seem even louder.
<sigh> theres never a perfect solution.

A good solution is building it in wood, it isolates sounds better than steel/aluminum cases. And some styrofoam. Make some good flow, and a noicebox.

I would propably stick with the DFI and take away the fan and mod a zalmanpassive to fit. I know i read that somewhere on this forum, better search for it. :D Second choice is Abits AN8 after that Asus or MSI. And this is all a personal judgement.
