I oc'ed my video card.... then my system crashed i restarted - worked fine - restarted again and now i get 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps meaning dead video card... put the video card in another system - same story.

i've tried resetting bios and changing jumpers and i cannot get the video card to work again....

is there anything i can do to troubleshoot my video card is possibly get it going again... (i don't see any burn marks on it)

You probably had one of the transitors die on you, stuff like that happens with an older video cards.

You say you have checked in multiple systems, so that narrows the problem down to the card.

Is the cooling attached and functional?

Any sign of leaking capacitors or other damage?

Any dry solder joints?

Is power getting to the card at all? Does the cooling fan spin when the PC boots?

Sound like you've killed it. It's a fairly old card anyway so dont worry about it.

everything on the video card looks perfectly fine - no bursting capacitors - no blown circuitry - everything looks normal to me....when i turn the system on the video card fan runs just fine - is there anything at all i could try to fix the video card?

Things like this happen so we have a reason to upgrade... :D

Try removing the heatsink and see if GPU looks OK. Also while your at it, clean of the thermal compund completely and put on some new one.

hmm... should i buy another cheap AGP card to replace it or should I get a really nice AGP card (that I might be able to use in the new ULi S939 chipset coming up) or should I totally upgrade my system to S939 and buy a PCI-E graphics card?....

new development...

if i boot to XP with a pci video card installed alongside the geforce3 ti200 agp card Windows will recognize the gf3 video card is connected to the system and will install the driver for it (while it is installing the driver my windows screen goes black and all i see is a cursor and i have to reboot - regardless of my point)... this would indicate the gf3 is indeed working seeing as how XP is recognizing the fact it is installed.

if i try and hotswap the monitor cable and plug it into the gf3 i get no signal on the monitor and also if i try to boot from the gf3 the system will not post.

is there a possibility the BIOS on the card has gone bad (if so, can i reflash) and the card might be ok after all?

As far as I know, a dodgy BIOS would mean the system boots, but there is no display until windows installs the video card drivers. I could be wrong, however.
