My mom covered her laptop with a pillow by accident once. That thing got so hot you couldn't pick it up. I thought the LCD was toast (it had started turning black in areas) but after it cooled off it was fine.

Hahaha I hope his laptop fried. I tried to run my laptop off a 12V converter (many seats have a cigarette adapter under them)...I kept thinking that somebody had left their cellphone on because there was this repetitive beeping behind me. Turns out the stupid 12V converter couldn't supply enough amperage for my Pentium 4 3.6GHz and was giving me a warning signal. Arghhh.
