I was just about to upgrade my Duron 800 to a 1.4 TB when I noticed the XPs have hit UK soil.

The Athlon XP 1.33 (1500) is only £20 more than the 1.4TB, so I'm thinking about grabbing one of these.

With only limited funds at my disposal, this new XP should run fine on my 300W PSU and Taisol cooler due to it's reduced heat and power requirements. I may therefore save money as the old TB would have struggled with my current set up.

I want to run this 1.33@1.4 on a 140 FSB. This avoids me unlocking the cpu, although I will probably do this at a later date.

Will I encounter any problems?

Has anyone pushed the 1.33 XP's to see how they overclock yet?

Thanks for the advice!

The other XP's are doing good so the 1.33 should do just as good.

yeh, sounds like a good idea with the setup you have, they only do the same speeds though

remember that the xp's run a little faster in certian apps(because of SSE support, and better ddr memory support), and also about 20% cooler, so an o/c xp would be a better choice than a 1.4tb

Thanks everyone, an XP it is.

I'd wait until the prices dropped further if I was a patient person - but since I was about to buy a TB for the same price anyway lets buy! :)

FerrariF50, hasn't anyone told you? M$ are taking over the world bit by bit, one XP at a time................:D
