As the title simply says when I turn my computer off (carputer in sig) it shuts off and before the LED fan completely goes out, its back on again without hitting anything.

Same thing with hibernation (actually this is what I use 99% of the time).

It never used to do this, then on monday it was intermittent and now it seems to be doing it all the time. Any ideas?

Check in the BIOS under 'power' for any 'wake on's. Also make sure you are not being stupid and hitting restart when you shutdown. It has happen to me after one too days playing HL2.

I dont have a reset button in my car anyways. I'll check the bios and disable all wake ons and let you know. Thanks

There are no wake-on events on this asrock mobo, what else can be the cause? I played around with a couple thigns in the bios but no change.

Your power switch may be going bad.

See what happens with the power button disconected...

That could be a little difficult, I have to hit the button and then disconnect it, but I'll try later today and let you know.

No you don't. All you have to do is just disconect the power button, then to start the computer just use a screwdriver to connect the two pins that the power button normaly connects to.

some dc motors when pushed produce power. To turn a psu on i think it needs a little charge... maybe somehow the fans spinning are charging it up pushing it back on.

I know crazy but hell ya never know........

Ok well its not the power switch and it doesnt do it under power down, just hibernation. I rarely just power down so I must have thought it was the same.

But it only does it under hibernation.

Do you happen to be running windows 98? It reminds me of the old shutdown bug that existed back in the day. This is just a stab in the dark but make sure thatin you system properties under startup and recovery, make sure that automatically restart is unchecked.
