800XL problem

Ok this is kind of a long weird story, but bare with me. I just reformatted my computer not but 3 days ago and installed the drivers that came with my vid card. I unistalled those after playing some games, benchmarks, etc. Installed I believe it was 5.6 drivers and did the same. Well here's the problem, whenever I unistalled those drivers and put the default ones back on I lost the ati menu. You know, Start> right mouse click> properties> settings>advanced, and I think it was under color management where you could go to the section where you can mess with your card settings. Well that's gone, I've tried to unistall, re-install god knows how many times and I still don't have that section, anyone know what could be wrong?

Uninstall the drivers and control panel. Then run the driver cleaner program. Then reinstall them and it should works.
