Brigtening a film

I've got a DVD image here, I can extract the .vob and other files just fine. The problem is the video itself is extremely dark, what program could I use to brighten up the video without distorting it. If that's poorly worded let me know and I'll try again.

What do you mean? OS is Windows XP? I don't have any program, I'm looking for reccomendations, then I'll get it and ask for help. Price aint a prob to much. Unless its ridiculous.

Yes, but is there a particular one which is renowned for being easy to use powerful or generally the best? I know nothing about doing this.

they are all good software ... just up to you on which you adapt and prefer best ...

you want something real easy i would try the ulead first..
