Hey guys, which processor would you rather use? A 2.66 ghz northwood, or a 1.4 ghz P4M. I have access to both and i'm currently running the 2.66 northwood oc'd to 3.0, i've been higher with it, but it's not stable at 3.2 with 1.7 vcore. :bang head Do you think the mobile chip would perform better?

Come on guys, 10 of you have looked, someone has to have an opinion.
I would install the mobile and overclock it. Then test it at the best stable o/c. Then I would compare the test results against the overclocked P4.
Then I would choose the best one of the two.

I was thinking the same thing, however i am at a huge disadvantage with the p4m. Even at a 100% oc, i'd still only be at 2.8.........i'm not sure still, ahhhhh to many options.
well if you have access to both run it and just give it a shot if it OC's better, why are you asking us when you could run the tests for yourself :santa:

the mobile chip definetly smaks the prescot and prolly northwood too right in the face... as my latitudes 1.86 Pint M gets a better benchmark score for CPU in both aquamark and sandra, than the tower mentioned in my sig...
if it was a prescot and a pint m, i'd say pint m in a heartbeat, but i realy loved my old northwood a great deal. -cries over loss (sold not dead)-
