SBC yahoo DSL and WRT54G

Ok, so my friend recently got a Gateway laptop. I went to best buy with him and got a Linksys WRT54G. Ran the wizard and everything like I have done a million times but at the end it says that the router cannot connect to the internet. The wierd thing is that the modem has 4 ports on back instead of the usual one port. It is yahoo DSL. if anyone knows what is going on the help would be greatly appreciated

I would highly recomend that you manually set up the router to handle all of the PPPOE translation. I had to do that here in order to make everything work together right. Log into your dsl modem, make note of the user account settings, server addresses and such, then put all of that info into the router, then set the dsl modem to "passthrough" and reboot both (not reset). That should fix everything.

ok, ive never had to manually put all that info into the router. so how would i go about doing so?

to be honest on your router i'm not exactly sure. I have a dlink router and the settings are on the wan page. Check to see if yours has a wan page if so the you just need to select pppoe as the connection type, when you do that it will open a page for the connection info. Just input what you pulled from the modem.
