personally this sickens me whether they purposely left the content on there or not doesnt mean anything.. to me this is going to be a big blow to mature games in particular but all games on a whole. i mean i remember the sim's and the numerous patches you could download to make the sims nude, and wuoldnt that bump that game a few ratings up?..

All this looks like to me is something they could finally do to the series, they have been looking for this and that many of times so they could take it off the market or whatever.

My mother mentioned this to me actually and i figured she misheard as she didnt know much about it and i figured it was a ban in a different country, then i come to find out this... Even my mother thinks the accusations made about this game and its effects on people are nuts....she said after watching me play that it was actually funny for her...and i don't even notice the violence when i play...i don't even think of it until i see things like this to me its just a game and i'm just meeting my objectives in the virtual land to complete the game...and even my mother agrees that if playing the game made you go kill somebody or whatever it may be that you had a few screws loose before you got the game.

Using The Sims as an example is tempting, however, The Sims wasn't packed with nude skins. Any such content was created by fans, for fans.

Also, here is another thread on this subject, for those who want a little more background.

what about Max Payne 2? all you had to do was add a flag to the executable then cycle through characters until you could play as nude Mona.

and I'm not sure if the content is built into the game, but Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude has "censorbar remover" patches available.

This is ridiculous...the onlyr eason this happened is because people bitched and complained.

Or the nVidia Dawn demo that was reprogrammed to run with a nude version of the fairy if you renamed the file to quake3.exe? This whole thing is ridiculous, if the media didn't latch onto the story like a bunch of leeches then Rockstar wouldn't have to suffer by replacing the game with all new copies without the 'questionable content.' I think I'm going to make an effort to go buy the PC version before it's ripped off shelves. Or get one with the Adults Only sticker...

USA, Home of Violence, Sin against Sex. I don't understand it myself or see what the big deal is. There are other games out there with much more adult content then GTA:SA, but of course since Rockstar has been under fire ever since the original GTA it doesn't shock me.

its funny that people think these ratings on games now actually stop young kids from playing and owning them.
Its not like their parents were buying the games for them to begin with anyway

Bah, damn Senator Clinton. She's been bitchy ever since Bill did Monica.
If you don't know what I'm talking about she is the one who brought this to media's attention.

Which is just another reason that she'll NEVER get my vote, for ANYTHING.

First thing's first: Mind the language, and mind the politics. Discussion of this game doesn't have to involve either of those things.

Secondly, personally I don't care wether or not they leave the content in or take it out. I am glad, however, that this will force Rockstar to finally release a patch for this damn game, and maybe address some of the crashing / studdering / sound issues that people have been having in the process. Rockstar has never been terribly end user oriented when it came to patching their games (they're even worse than EA in that respect), so maybe this will finally light a fire under their collective asses.

Also, I don't see how they didn't see this coming. They've been under constant fire from various groups since the original release of GTA3 about how violent the series is. And now along w/ the violence, they add a racial angle, negative stereotypes AND animated nudity. I don't see how they could even think they'd get out of this w/o a scratch. I mean sure, this got them a lot of press, which will make the game sell better, but in the end, there's not going to be anybody who will want to buy a copy of the game when they remove the stuff that Hot Coffee made available, because it won't be as contriversial.

Furthermore, again personally, if I wanted to see pixels do the nasty, I'd buy a Hentai game, tyvm.

copyright issues aside, there will probably be another version of the hot coffee mod using the content from the original 1.0 version of the game. at least i hope so.

Let me get this clear, there pulling the game do to a MOD?

thats obsurd, there is a reason rockstar did NOT include the content in there original game. And releasing a patch so people cant download said mod? How can people possibly complain, you have to download the mod in the first place. Also as previously mentioned many other games also have user created adult content.

I would guess the only reason people are going after this is that they have always wanted to take down rockstar. No one went after the sims for its nude patch.

I just wish parents would pay attention to what they are getting there kids in the first place and pay attention to what there kids are doing.

Im acutally not a fan of GTA:SA I hated the game but its the hole concept that irks me. Since its user created cotent people could create adult mods for just about any game out there, does that mean all games should be rated adult

that will be the same day you all see my "collectors edition" of the ps2 version hitting ebay listings, if i can get more than it's worth out of it for something i can't access i'm willing to sell out and buy a new copy

I just really feel that it could be bad for the game industry on a whole.

It is content R* left in the game and even on console disks, the mod just unlocks it.

Why they would be stupid enough to even think about including softcore porn in a mainstream game is beyond me. R* always has tried too hard to be edgy and now they've F'ed it up for all of us gamers. Now we're going to see regulation of all content (not just nudity and softcore porn) to an extent that we probably never dreamed of.

When I want porn I'll watch a movie, that crap does nothing to enhance a game, absolutely nothing.

I guess I dont really see the big deal at all, the nudity is pretty weak from what I have seen from gaming websites and the sex should be looked at AFTER all of the violence ect. Think throwing gernades at cops and stealing cars ect would be looked at worse than some locked sex scenes.

Parents need to just not buy it for anyone under 17. I dont know about you guys but at 17 I think most people have seen far more sexual content from just watchign TV and movies. I really dont see why parents should get upset at the content if they are the morons buying the game for their 9 yr old son to begin with. If they just used the rating system to begin with we wouldnt have this problem. If only 17 and up were playing this game it wouldnt be a big deal.

I would actually think that Rock* is thrilled to death with all of this. They've already sold like 38 million copies of the game and I'm sure all this extra publicity has probably sold a couple of million more.

To be honest I don't see it as being a big deal. I always just figured the "hot coffee" scenes were part of the original game that were scrapped at the last minute (probably to avoid an "Adult" rating). It's not like they're easily unlockable. There's no Contra style keys to put in or anything. You have to have a Gameshark or other device and downloaded keys so if the content does become unlocked, then the player was definately looking for a pseudo porn fix. Same goes for the PC version. You have to go looking for the mods and replace original game files with the modified files.

If Rock* had left these things unlockable through in game commands (not third party keys or patches) then there would be something to talk about.

Rockstar *was* thrilled with this...until the Adult Only rating was actually thrown on it. Now stores won't sell the game ... so they're being forced to reproduce the game without the content in it...that looses them a lot of money.

I'm willing to bet the creator of this mod sees a lawsuit in his hands. Rockstar is claiming that he broke the EULA.

If anyone of age wants to see the actual footage, gametrailers.com has it.

I was mostly amazed at the poor character model, it looks like R* needs to use only 5 polys per character so it runs on the PS2, lol.

GTA Garage has already pulled the mod, i looked further to find a set though, figure with everything going down it's best to have it all someplace because i think it might prove to disappear here soon

I still lack comprehension of how people can complain

Either: Your Trying to access via the mod
or you dont have access to it and cant complain

I mean really if you go to all the trouble to install the mod, you probably know what its for. And if you havent gone to that trouble that content is not accessable to you so why are you complaining its not like you can see it

Im mean really there is probably a reason Rockstar made the content inaccessable in the first place

I feel the exact same way but i know how they justify it and it's because since GTA3 they've wanted some sort of loose end to nail rockstar on over these games because of alot of stupid reasoning, censorship, ect now they've found something that can be pinned on rockstar by just quickly filling a few new rules in fully (you know the one's they read out of in between the lines after finding out about "hot coffee" although concerned i do believe this incidence will be confined just to this series and other games just as mature as it is.

OCNoob, it may be a mainstream game but it shouldn't be accessible to all. I think your ratings system must have some fundemental flaws, as it's not like the sexual content can't be suitable for 17 year olds but it is suitable for 18 year olds. In the UK this game has an 18 rating, as have the entire series from GTA 1. I'm not sure how your country can consider some softcore sex scenes innapropriate for under 18s, yet 17 year olds can play games containing that amount of violence.

Nice T-Shirt, Fuzzba11! :p

It appears that Hilary Clinton though not terribly astute herself has some PR advisers that have suggested she be seen as 'a woman campaigning to save our poor babies from smut', and that maybe this will make people aware of who she is and that she may be doing the RIGHT thing. Like most people, english, french, german, japanese, indian, arab, most americans are stupid and have very short memories so they need to be reminded that Hilary Clinton exists, and that she is striking out against something vaugely bad and threatening (even if they have no real idea what it is).

I would like to repeat something already posted by a mod
First thing's first: Mind the language, and mind the politics. Discussion of this game doesn't have to involve either of those things.

So if you could please take it easy on all of the Hilary Talk please as this is probably grounds to constitute political

guys guys guys, you honestly think they cared that much about the "sex scene"...........they've been tearing that game APART to try to find something that would keep them from selling it since day one, ever since GTA started they have been trying to shut it down, its like Tupac!

I think VH1's Best Week ever episode has explained this quite well... they said something along these lines... If you can beat down a cop with a sex toy it isn't so surprising that there is a sex scene.

Uh, yeah. It's called reverse engineering. :)

Frankly, I'm not all that surprised that R* included a sex scene in GTA/SA. I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised. They'd been out there on the border, as far as I'm concerned anyway, so...big deal. It's like Hollywood. There was probably a great uproar when the first major motion picture featuring bare skin was released.

Net result: So?

Politics reserved...but I have some choice words on that subject anyway.

Violence (ending life): Okay
Sex (creating life): Not Okay

Every now and then I lift up the veil and see the hypocracy of our modern world.
