any have any tips for sleeving the wires? Just got my Vantec kit and I have NO clue as to where to beging, I don't understand the concept of fitting smaller sleeve over bigger wires, or how to get it over the plug. Anybody got any guides or reading material besides the crap directions on the back of the kit? TIA
You need to remove the molexes. You can buy a molex pin remover online.

is it totally necessary to buy it? or is it just for safety?

You don't necessarily have to remove anything. If you push the sleeving together, it will expand. My PSU came sleeved, but I have sleeved all the fan wires, USB, and Firewire cables from the front panel. If a connector is still to large to be passes through the sleeving then it will need to come off.
Use a zip tie at each end of the sleeving to keep it in place and prevent it from unraveling and then a bit of heat shrink to tidy the ends up.

This is a good place to start.
I would have to add: underneath the heatshrink tubing ending the sleeving, you should add something to prevent the heatshrink tubing from migrating--as mentioned above, you can use a zip-tie, I use a little neck of electrical tape.
If you don't want to fork out for heatshrink tubing and a heat-gun/lighter, you can just use electrical tape or even hockeystick tape, but that looks pretty ghetto.

woo woo! thanks guys, just ordered the goodies i need, and the guide looks to be very helpful, doesn't sound too difficult to do, hopefully i won't be in for a "shocking" surprise when I attempt this. Sorry for the lame pun.. Just ordered a bunch of garbage, some acrylic mouse that I don't need, a new 120mm HSF with blue led's and yellow sleeving(presleeved) the Molex Extractor tool and and some blue UV molex housing's. Hopefully the UV IDE cables will show up more @ night than what they do after I'm finished, if not i'll just fork over some money for the UV paint and just throw some on there or get more cathodes. 1 or the 2. Thanks guys for the help, every comment's been useful.
