There will be a set of jumpers on your mobo to do this. They will be marked (probably) as multiplier settings, but without knowing the board, can't say for sure. Do you have a manual for the board? If not, get an on-line copy. That will tell you more......:D
hum, got to ask a friend of mine, its his pc :D ;)
i'll ask him tomorrow :)
I have a PII 233mhz and was able to o/c it to 290mhz by increasing; voltage to the cpu and fsb on mobo. The computer seems to be running quite stable. I have yet to encounter problems. I am wondering whether it's possible to further push up the mhz. Any help will be appreciated.
Sorry, but I left out some info...
I have 64mb of RAM on a GMB motherboard. Multiplier is set at 3.5 and fsb at 95mhz. CPU voltage had to be increased as default voltage will only allow me to o/c to 266.

i think the early p2's have th Katami(?) core if that is the case you probably won't get much past 300 with it.(I could be wrong on that core did all Katami's have 512k).
Stealth is right, usually about 300 MHz is about max for those old P-II 233 CPUs. Maybe 350 if you have great cooling and an exceptional chip. The old article you saw probably was a way to increase voltage which sometimes helps stability when overclocking. Raising the voltage also increases the heat. It's easier to buy a overclocking friendly motherboard with adjustable settings. If you do that, then buy a newer CPU too. That old 233 is an antique now.
You'll reach 300mhz, I'm positive..
But Good Luck hittin above it if u hit 300.
