unlocking an athlon

i am just wondering what is the easiest way to unlock an athlon

what speed is it, if its a newer chip it is probably unlocked. But if not he easiest way to unlock it is to conect the golden L1 bridges with a #2 pencil. DO NOT CROSS BRIDGES, just connect straight across, and make it straight and neat. Use a magnifying glass. After that the multiplier should be able to be change the multiplier.

its a 1.33 266fsb what makes me think its locked is that it will not overclock using the multiplier seting the only way to overclock it is if i push the fsb up

1.33 Gig Athlon should be factory unlocked!

i must be doing something wrong (need to read more about overclocking) instead of just jumping in there

Don't worry, I'm sure your chip is unlocked! Just look very closely at the L1's. If you see any kind of laser cut, it's locked.
