Hey all, for some reason world of warcraft keeps on freezing on me. Has anyone else had this happen? If so how did you fix this problem

Hmm possibly old display drivers or maybe an unstable OC? I have no lockups at all in WoW.

Freeze ups are usually cased by an OC'ed CPU. Try lowering your clocks or up the Vcore, also check if your RAM timings are stable and if you are giving it enough Vdimm. All these things could be causing it but I personally think that its the CPU itself, either give it more Vcore or lower the clocks.

i have had problems...LOTS (when i did play...)
this was on my phase cooled sig rig...:
1) i had to lower my CPU OC WAY WAY down...NO more than 240 HTT (1:1 so also FSB)
since it was a FX i just upped the multy and played away @ 3.0 - 3.2 GHz.... :p
2) lower vid card OC quite a bit too... :(
3) i also loaded the vid card drivers that they approved (off the main WoW websight)
they were VERY old and i had to look in the driver history section of ATi's sight just to find them
first things first, if your OCed...set to "stock" settings and see if you still lock-up (and im assuming your PC is "hard locking")
then try different drivers
OC from there...or not
GOOD LUCK!!
EDIT:
sig settings were 3D bench stable

Wow locks and freezes went away for me when I discontinued overclocking and went to 1Gig of ram.

I have a considerable overclock and run wow fine, just so you don't lose all hope to playing WoW AND ocing ;) Every benchmark and game stresses a system differently, you just need to find the sweet spot where everything you do on a daily basis is 100% stable, and it looks like WoW is going to be your determining factor.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but how much ram do you have? Could be solved by adding more.

BUY MORE RAM!!!!
you need to have about a gig of ram to run the smoothest in ironforge... i had that problem and once i got new ram all my lag and other problems went away and now it runs so smooth... so just go out and buy another 512mb of ram and it will be smooooooth sailing. lates.
