I have a question regarding increasing the core voltage for a Tbird 1.4. I've been able to get a stable 1.61 Ghz overclock (11.5x140) with a 1.89V core (+.100 vcore increase in BIOS). I'm using a Shuttle AK31 rev2 mobo. My problem is that I can't seem to get the Vcore any higher by increasing the vcore settings in the BIOS. Is there some limitation due to the bridges on the chip for vcore increases even if my bios supports much higher ones? Whenever I try to increase it by more than .100, it seems to actually go back to the default setting of 1.75V when I check it with Mobo monitor. Any ideas?

The highest you set the core to is 1.85V. The higher setting only works for Durons whose default core voltage is lower. Do a search of the Doctor's posts. He came up with a simple voltage hack for the AK31 that requires no soldering and only costs about $10 for some parts from Radio Shack.

BTW, I also have a 1.4 GHz Athlon running at 1.618 MHz (10.5 x 154 MHz) on my AK31 Rev 2! :D
