PC4000 and Abit AS8?

I have seen ppl that have this. How is this possible if the mobo says the max it can handle is PC3200. Anybody that can enlighten me would be greatful, planning on buying some good mem for this mobo.

it will NOT run pc4000 unless you overclock your syystem to 250FSB
it will run pc3200 speeds @ stock

Ah ok, Current my FSB is at 260

It'll run the memory just fine, but as mentioned just because you own DDR500 does not mean it will run that out of box. You need to overclock the FSB on a 1:1 to obtain those speeds.

Yup the stated memory speed is just what it is capable of running. It will run anything slower as well sometimes with tighter timings.
