View Full Version : Vcore
Does it damage the processor (alot?,some?,none?) to run it at 0.2 under the default vcore voltage?
Thanks :)

Uh...running it under the default would actually be beneficial to the chip. :)
Does the system be instabile when it has 0.2 voltage under the default vcore?
I've found out that my system won't boot with default vcore settings...

it wont? but it runs at .2v lower? tahts realy stange but there is some benifits of running a cpu lower.... u get less heat produced and teh cpu has a longer life span now.....but the down side u cant overclock as much or might not be stable at defualt speed... but u can allways under clock...i think my 700duron 1.5v i was messing with it and got it to boot at 5x90 =450MHz with 1.2v .3v lower then spec....and it was stable but it wouldnt run at 700mhz stable hehe.. the thing never got warm at that speed lol
i dotn believe that it hurts the chip at all in short or long term to down the voltage... thats what i am doing for my dads work...when he gets his computers probly 1ghz Tbirds i am going to underclock them to 450mhz since what there used for doesnt require anything faster then a 166mhz cpu...but u cant get the slow ones anymore and the price is soo good for them also in a office its allready prity warm at that speed u could run it with a heatsink only lol
