I can't get the HSF to come off so I can apply Artic Silver Ceramique
I don't think I should though, as my load vs idle temps are about 2* C apart (idle at 57, load at 59-60, high load (like Half-Life 2 (high load is when the fan turns on and it makes more noise)) is like 62))
is it worth fighting the thing?

you got them all is the card warm or cold when you try to take the sink off if its warm it should come off pretty easy and if its cold it will still come off just try to take your time and take it easy and try not to torque the heatsink or card

Sounds like there is some thermal glue of some kind under the heatsink. To get that glue to come loose, just stick your card in the freezer for about 20~30 minutes. It should just pop right off. Wait untill your card is completely dry before re-firing it up.
