I like how Unreal keeps up with technology: One of the few makers that works with Linux and now introducing multithreaded games... :)

yep thats epic for you, they also make alot of money from thier engine and keeping up with new technology

that is SOOO true. how many games use the Unreal engine? Epic makes a crap load of money by distributing their Engines out to other companies.

So they please us by keeping up with technology, They also please other companies that use their newest Engines for their games...which also makes us happy. Then epic makes money from Us buying their games, AND other companines using their engine.....

friggin engenious if you ask me.

and i can't wait till UT2K7! hopefully it will be awesome!

the game can and will use 2 CPU's or 2 cores if on a machine = no more CPU bottle neck :D

Though there was an Unreal 3 also coming out... Or is Gears of War the new title of it? And they stopped the Unreal SP story currently?

not entirely sure if gears of war realy has anything to do with the unreal story. but i realy do want them to make a real unreal 3, but nowhere as lame as Unreal 2 was.

all the preview stuff seen from the unreal3 engine has been gears of war and ut2007 - I havent seen anything relating to an actual unreal3 so far ;(

I thought unreal2 was pretty good though, but I would like unreal3 to be less lonegun and more of an epic in a war with something feel (squads!)

I don't think there is a PC version planned for Gears of War. I'm thinking that its gonna be another Halo type exclusive where a PC version would be released much later if at all, but that may just be rumors.


EDIT: n/m, got this off IGN:

"This third-person shooter will be available on the Xbox 360 and the PC. We were told by Peter Moore that Gears of War is currently running at 80% of the visual bar that Epic believes it can achieve on 360. It will also include online play, and should be available after the holiday season. Stick with IGN for more information on this game next week at E3."
