Okay just wired up two routers.. I do have a crimping tool but I have just realized it's actually two sizes to small to crimp the connectors for broadband stuff.. so anyway do I NEED to crimp the connection or is pushing the wires all the way into the connector enough to get by?

Or maybe theres an alternate route to crimping the connection.. thanks

Crimp is required, pushing the wires in will not make the required connection.

Yes, a crimper is a must for the connection to work, just as eaglescouter said.
If your crimper is to small, it must be an RJ11 (used for phone lines)
You need an RJ45.

When I first started networking my house, my father told me the connector could be crimped adequately with a screwdriver. A couple days and a few tries later, I begged him for a crimping tool.
