there is more to it than that.

But yes the 633 is not a bad chip. I had mine at over 1Ghz. The stepping makes a big difference.
Pretty much all of the NEW 800's cD0 chips seem to do at least a gig if not better... Right now my 800 is running at 1G at default voltage with no problems. Could go much faster if I had better ram.

The cD0 are the best, then the cC0, and lastly the cB0 and the cA2's...

I Have heard of this cCO & cBO.... What is that-....... I how do I check what mine is......??

Thanks Peter

you have to look at the cpu and get the s-spec number and check it against the Intel Data Sheet on their website, or you can use a tool like CPUID or sandra, they will tell you the stepping...

http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sspec/icp.htm

Also, for celerons
1.5v - 1.65 default = cB0
1.7v default = cC0
1.75v default = cD0

No matter which of those steppings you happen to have, you should definately be able to squeeze a bunch more Mhz out of that chip. You might not be able to get it going on a 100mhz bus, depending on the stepping, but it should work at 83, if your board has it.

Stepping is an internal revision Intel does in the manufacturing process, and each succesive one pretty much overclocks better and better.

Good luck!:D

Or try the latest celerons with a 100Mhz FSB, and try to reach 133+, like the celeron II 800 or 850.

the latest ones (1000 mhz + i thought) are tualatin based, so you'll need a chipset that can work with a tualatin.

is cBo stepping better then cCo stepping?

nope, cC0 is better, cD0 is best

cDo 1st place (newest stepping)
cCo 2nd place
cBo 3rd place (oldest stepping)

I got a 633 cBo does 1000 with air
1066 with water.

I have a 600 cC0 running @ 1054 117 X 9 Vcc @ 1.8 running 100% stable, right now I would go with a c2 900 cD0( I think that is the only stepping for this chip) that is almost garenteed to give you 1.2ghz 133X9=1197.

 Hey I got my 600 celeron to 1097 in windows and only to 997 with Quake-3 on a MSI BX Master 6163 mombo..But was thinking of trying a celeron 900,even though its does not supports anything in celeron over 800 and p-3 to 1000mhz.what do you guys think?

actually i believe that the Celle 533 is the highest overclockers ever, rthe only chip to reach a 100% overclock of 1066, and almost all of them can do it!!!

The 300A has made a few 100% overclocks as well :)

No, the 1.2ghz celeron will be a tualatin.

I've got mine running at around 900,@stock voltage (8*112)
i'm trying to reach that 100% overclock at stock voltage :D

my 600 cc0 does 1116 rock stable apart from 3dmark on an old BH6

my PCI is the only thing keeping me from 1200 i think, still a nice shiny abit SA6 is coming my way soon, we shall see

i tried adding it to the DB but it isnt there :(

Hey Jason, you do realize that only like 5 1GHz or better oc's for the 533a are on our database. Of those, there is just a single 100% oc. Let's face it peeps, 100% oc's while VERY nice are also fairly rare. To my knowledge, there are no chips (past or present) that almost all would 100% oc.
