Hi, I am having a wierd problem with Add/Remove Programs. In between some of the programs there is a long black space that changes into white and black stripes as you scroll along, almost like a pattern. Then the rest of the programs continue normally. Its really annoying because its REALLY LONG !!!! It seems like a glitch. I have scanned over and over again for viruses, spyware, and did a full disk defrag. dont really know when this problem started. Its kind of like this:

P = programs
B = black lines (or spaces)
W= white lines (or spaces)

First, I would recommend getting the latest updates for Windows. If that doesn't solve your problems, I would surf google, and/or uninstall the programs with the uninstall that came with them.

Well, I can still Install/remove programs from there, The long black line is in between the programs. Like right in the middle, seperating the two halves. And I just noticed, that when i right click . the colors change to White,black,gold,navy blue.(Like Washington Wizards colors) Really wierd. Thnx again, ill try that scannow in cmd. Thanks !

Make sure that you have the latest updates available for Windows. If that doesn't do anything, I would contact Microsoft Support, because nobody has had this problem yet.

You don't see any Key values? The ab entries are strings, you should have a whole bunch of program entries as Keys with strings inside the Keys. Something like this.

When you find this location (Note the Uninstall Key location and be sure you are exactly in the Registry location mentioned), look inside the keys, yes all of them for anything that resembles what is displayed in your ADD/Remove Programs list.

I should ask what version OS you have ;)

Ohhh..... I dont think that you get my "recreation" of Add remove programs. The letters represent black Lines. How can i post pictures ? I allready have a screennshot I just dont know how to post it.

Looks like file corruption to me. Does this box have any other issues you are aware of?

No... not that I can tell. All the programs are listed there, the black sapace is in between them.

If your not encountering any other problems then I dont think I'd worry too much about it. Sometimes with program errors the Add/Remove console will take a very long time to load, thats the only problem that I have seen personally. If it works and uninstalls app's I'd forget it.

If you are not OK with that then a system file check, or repair installation would be the next things I would try.
