I love this Swifty .. I went through 2 heatsinks before i got the MC462.

Definately loud when mated with an high output delta fan but my Athlon MP runs at a chilly 30C idle/ 33C full load :D

Im not overly keen on the mc462. My friend bought one for nearly £90 including delivery. Thats very f**king expensive. Anyways, I put the heatsink on for him very carefully. Read instructions on the Internet and still managed to crush the core. Its a monster.

When I upgraded to a 1.4Ghz I was looking for a heatsink. In the end I chose the SK-6 because of its cooling power, price and easyness to install. The mc462 is just too hard to put together without breaking anything.

And how the heck do you know how much pressure to put on each screw?!? I remember the website quoting something like 4-6 pounds on each screw. Yeah as if we can measure it.

Cant beat the SK6 imo.

i was told that once you feel resistance, stop turning the screw. so far, i've transfered this heatsink 3 or 4 times and i haven't had any problems with it. imo, i like this design better than any clip.

I think people make the MC462A installation way harder then it has to be.

Just tighten the screws untill they stop,(ie screws bottom out) the springs are pre-made to apply around 20lbs of pressure at that setting.

That's it.
