Just got them but I'm still waiting for a good reason to try them. The 21.81 were quicker & they did let me O/C but even at default core & memory I was getting tears with them. Then why the hell did I remind you guys about the new ones? Wanna hear someone try them out before I do:D.

I am currently using them, they are a bit more stable than the 21.81's so far, and bench better too. So far so good.

R&B:D

Just downloaded the 21.83's and they gave me an increase of about 40 points on 3DMk2001...now I gotta run a little Giants to see how they hold up under that kind of stress...Hold tight, we're goin' in...:D

*Edit*...So far the new drivers have held up fantastic on my rig...All my games scream right along without a hitch...AOK so far...
Benchmark scores still holding at about 40 points over 21.81's...

I tried and got errors even with default speeds occasionally. 3D Mark scores were also little bit lower. Switched back to 21.81

I have one question that does not relate to performance. The 12.41s would automatically apply the Digital Vibrance setting at start up. The 21.81s never did. Do the 21.83s apply them at start up? Of course I do set them to apply the changes but the 21.81s just wouldn't.

use them also better benches and more stable, i dont lockup in games as oftem it seems like - its just all depends on your system and hardware, not the driver itself

i have said this a lot and up to now no-one still denied it: that seems an issue relating to GeForce II MX cards running with W98 - dets XP wont apply customized colors and overclocking settings at startup.
ive also heard one or two saying that, its perhaps true - and intentional! (at least for the overclocking thing).

yes. powerstrip has no problem with that because its not driver dependant.

I'm using the 21.83 drivers now and in my setup they are more stable and quicker than 21.81.

I have changed some system settings so my previous results aren't directly comparable now.

In 3DMark2000 I'm getting 9395.
Not bad for my vid card.

How is it on 3DMark2001?

I was getting just over 4000 (two or three runs a couple of days ago) but now I seem to get just over 3800 consistently.

Can't think of any settings I've changed.
Not too worried about this, 2001 is optimised for GF3 card features.

BTW I did try the 21.85 drivers today but they crashed (froze) in the 'Dragolithic' high res test in 2001. I uninstalled them.

I'm still trying out the 21.81s. How is Leadtek? They got a Ti500 for sale around my area for $290 & seems like a good buy.

I have no complaints with my Leadtek card.

One interesting aspect was when I replaced my no-name MX with the Leadtek GF2 I got a considerable improvement in 2D focus and clarity. This was something I wasn't expecting. I thought all Geforce based cards would be pretty much on par for 2D stuff.
I'm talking a very obvious difference here.

For some reason the Leadtek stuff is much cheaper than, say, the ASUS or Hercules equivalents (at least in Aust).
Don't know why, they seem to be well built with quality parts.
They do very well in comparitive bench tests too.

Thanks again:D The shop will let me test it for a day so i will be able to decide then. The 21.81 & 21.83 drivers are totally unstable on my rig:( I thought I could keep the performance boost
