Someone care to explain very briefly the differences?

Sure thing.....

Duron = budget processor. it's AMD's answer to the celeron....old core = Spitfire, new core = Morgan (1 Ghz+)

T-bird = code name for the core of AMD Athlon processors.

Athlon = T-bird = Athlon T-bird


Athlon XP = Palomino (Palomino is the code name fo the core) = the new chip everyone but me is winning at giveaways :rolleyes:
