Antec's top-of-the-line is the Phantom 500 HERE (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=24500) , but is not a modular design .
I have a TP550 and a TC550 , but cant comment on a comparison to the NeoPower 480 .
If I were to buy another Antec today , I'd probably go NeoPower because of the modular design for future use . The Phatom 500 is cool too but at $200 (and no modular design) , I'd probably go PCPowercooling instead for the money .
yeah the phantom looks nice...
i would go with that PCPowercooling 510watt sli psu if i upgraded

Ditto, VERY solid rails. No comment on overclocking though since I don't, but I have a ton of things on the 12v rail and the dual 12v rails hold up very well :).

I used to have a full Dell dimension desktop as my primary machine. Now I'm at least back to a custom built rig with some cooling mods (thanks in part to Nebulous). Just need 100% stability, hence my aversion to the 'bleeding edge'. :p
I am planning on oc'ing the 7800gtx that arrives tomorrow.

thats pretty much all i like to oc as well-the video card. i dont have enough "know-how" to oc a processor right without doing something with the voltages or whatever and screw up my pc lol. ill just stick with video ocing.

I bought a neopower 480 1.5yrs ago. Today, I move my pc replug it up and nothing.... other than smoke coming out of the power supply. It's cooked. It's a athlon 64 3700 system with 2 hd's 2 cd roms and a 6800 agp card. I don't overclock it either, so I am really not a fan as this is the 2nd power supply that antec has provided me. I just pray my main mobo/components didn't get hurt. At least I was awake when it was ready to catch fire.
That's a funny coincidence, lol... someone posts up this thread and after 1.5yrs your PSU goes!!! wow... sry to hear, though, dude...

WOW , old post , but sorry to hear about your bad luck ricks66gs .
Since this post (8 months ago) , Ive purchased two NeoHE 550's for two Opteron rigs (both oc'ed) and have been very pleased with the newer Antecs .
I know its not much constellation to you ricks66gs , but atleast the 480 is under warranty . Maybe you should ask Antec to upgrade your RMA'd supply to a NeoHE 500/550 for all the trouble you've encountered . Ive read there was problems more so with the 480 than any other NeoHE models . Worth a shot to ask Antec for a an upgrade to avoid any possible problems in the future . Ive always found Antec's support to be very good , even though Ive only had one experiance with them in having a TP430 replaced .
Again , I'd ask Antec for a free upgrade for all your troubles .
