I'm having loads of problems overclocking my graphics card and I wondered if anyone know the answer?
I have a 64mb Hercules 3D Prophet 2 mx (SDR) (128bit) g-card, and whenever i enable the coolbits bit and enable overclocking and etc the slider bars just stay all the way to the left with no mhz reading. I resorted to using nv max but it says my memory is at 360MHZ!! Seems as its sdr how can it be this high??? (mayb they gave me the wrong card although it has no fan on!!! just a blower underneath.....) do you have any ideas?
Cheers!
Nick
Uninstall your video card, reinstall the drivers. Use powerstrip or Rivatuner from the link in my signature below. If that works correctly, try reinstalling coolbits.
Also, don't user nvidia certified drivers. Coolbits only works on betas. I would use the 12.90 if the newer one won't work, with that card you wouldn't see tons of improvement with the newer drivers anyway, but you would see some (and more than with newer drivers) with overclocking.

Never used the newest .85 dets. If they're not certified yet coolbits might work. So far I've seen horror stories with the newest drivers.

i installed the 21.85's and they fixed my 3dmark2001 no memory error that popped up and i could not ever finish benchmarking my comp.

r there any drivers that work? im using the dets 6.45 that came with the card and they let me overclock it but coolbits dont work, the core it at 220 and the mem at 189 i occansionaly get purply things on the screen but 3dmark is much faster, when i use the newest drivers i can reach the same overclock but 3dmark is incredibly jolty yet the scores stay the same? any ideas?
What chipset cooler are you using or your using stock(I hope not)
You mite wanna considering getting ram sinks and thats all I can think of :)

I.m using the factory blue heatsink (no fan!!!) that came with it!!! However i have a card slot blower directly under the blue heatsink (touching it!) as well as a couple of 5000rpm case fans and 2 more blowers blowing out, the card never gets even hot and the case no matter how hot the cpu is never goes above room temp. Could it be that I only have 128mb of ram? and the newer drivers use more? when i dont shut down all running programs its really jolty anyway, at the moment nvmax says the default mem is 351 (i know its about 175!) overclocked to 370 and the core (170) is at 220, i know get 8500 3dmarks on 3dmark 2000 on the lowest resolution and etc, but i managed to get higher oveclock with the worser drivers. Yet if i overclock any more with the new drivers it just lowers the marks and gets really jolty, and imean JOLTY!!!!! could it be the mem? its stable at 148mhz but soon i will be getting 512mb cas2 crucial mem so i can take it out.
Thanks, Nick

whe you enable cool bits, there should be a box at the top of the overclocking tab thet says something like allow overclocking, when you click on the box, yuo should be able to change the speed of the card, failing that there is powerstrip and GTU tweak, if yuo want i will 'look after' that 128MB ram

one i cant even get the tab to appear!!! two the only way i can is to use nv max's enable coolbits option and then it dont work, and i would never give away £70 at the times worth of ram.
Anyone got any suggestions?

would g-card cooling do anything? as it doesn't even get warm and i have no way of attaching a fan unless its a blue orb with the sticky tape

nick! 128MB of cas3 ram is about £16 now, it also might slow down your system with the 512MB, dont get a blue orb, get a orage orb from www.overclockingstore.co.uk and some artic silver epoxy, which is a perminant glue also get the thermal take memory kit which contains heat spreaders form you normal ram (dont do anything but makes it look nice) and heatsinks for your graphics card memeory

yup i will, but 512mb doesn't slow down da system more does, plus i WANT CAS2 and 256mb isn't enough i tried it and resources without running any games but wif stuff in da background is 29% free, not good.
