View Full Version : Don't throw out AMD K6-2s!!!
I was about to throw this thing out when I decided to try to sell it on ebay. Look at how much I got for a short break to set up an auction...

I got that thing for free, too, when I upgraded a customer's system to an AXP several months ago.
You win the Prize!
Link's dead.
That's what they usually go for. They are somewhat in demand because they are pretty much the top of the line for socket 7, aside from K6-3's which have less compatability with boards (there is a site with patched bios's for some though). I also believe I have that same comp, also obtained free. :P
i remember i paid $20 for a 500mhz k6-2 like 2-3yrs ago :P
Hehe these old puppies are fun to sell. I occasionally find one in an old PC and i always put it for sale...having a little 10 - 20 extra to spend in the weekend never hurts.

Nice, I've got two! Gotta check the speed, and I definitely don't have the heatsink :p
I also have a pIII 800mhz slot, but I dunno if it still works.

I've got one as my "backup" system a K6-2 450mhz. It'll be sold/disposed of when I get my x2 system near x-mas.

I'd go with the bay, i just don't think theres the same market here for them...here they're the speeds a keychain should run...there you find odd people that want them.
Well, they are people that just want to fix what they already have, and instead of spending a few hundred on another system a quick $15-25 fixes it. :)

no, actually, there porclein, so a keychain is out of the question, since you cant drill into them to make a hole.

use a glass drill and bit.
You mean I could actually sell these things and not loose money on the shipping? hehe How much are they going for exactly? The link is dead. I have two. A 450, and a 550 and both have the sinks, mobo, ram and all. Heck, the whole box still works on both of them. Complete with the AT PSU and all.
Expect 10 - 15$ shipped

That's what I sold, and yes the link still works (at least for me).
It sold for like $17.03 plus $5 shipping.
