down firing subwoofer driver?

would this subwoofer driver (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-490) work good in a down-firing enclosure? i only ask because I heard that if a lot of drivers aren't well suited for down firing becuase they will over excurte and die.

Keep in mind I didn't actually plug that drivers spec's into the forumla to be absolutely sure, but I haven't seen anyone complain about those drivers not being able to downfire.
