overclocking your laptop would destroy battery life eliminating the point of a laptop... and causing even more heat
it can be done using programs like easy tune, though can't imagine WHY you'd want to.
better performance if you don't use it as a portable
and just for the hell of it
i have a moblie p3 1 ghz that i got for free that i'm looking to overclock. i've been looking fairly casually, but if i find anything good i'll post it. there is also a separate laptop/notebook section this would probably fit better in.
Why wouldn't you want to do it?
I overclocked my palmpilot lol.
I have a dothan chip in my lappie and if I had a chipset lock I could reach 2.3 Ghz on it easily.
I used SETFSB and CPUMSR to overclock my laptop.
my battery is stuffed anyway so i dont really care :)

hahaha, yeah... the theme of OC forums is modding your custom build and to get away from brand name pcs!

no, the whole point of oc forums is to push hardware to another performance level.
what does it matter where it came from. i mean ****, the parts u buy to "mod" ur "home built" rig are still brand name parts.
^ Good point.
Yeah I agree...........the point of this forum (like XS but milder) is to push hardware to its limits using volt mods, better cooling, new BIOS, etc.
